I’m a self-proclaimed mission trip junkie.

September 10, 2014

How does that saying go? “The first step is admitting that you have a problem or an addiction.” Well, I’m becoming a mission trip junkie. After completing my first mission trip to Bolivia in June, I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to travel to Belize with one of my best friends from college to partake in not only mission work, but nursing mission work. How perfect! I had been recently researching new volunteer opportunities in my area when my friend jokingly suggested that I accompany her to Belize City, Belize. As soon as she presented me with a super general run down about this nursing mission to Belize, I quickly reached for my phone and messaged my parents asking their permission to leave the country and head south, yet again.

During this nine day trip to Belize in December with International Service Learning, we will be practicing and providing nursing care in a community health setting in poverty-stricken areas. This experience will allow me additional opportunities to expand on my current nursing skills and even adapt new ones as I near graduation in May 2015. I couldn’t be more excited to have the chance to play an active role in the lives of those in Belize City. Please consider supporting me through this journey with your prayers and perhaps a donation. The trip expenses total $1850. Donations can be made through my Goennounce pageĀ or by making checks payable to International Service Learning and mailing them to:
